New work coming soon!

Even though I have not been posting onto the blog in quite a while, there has still been a lot going on around here.

I continue to hand engrave glass for 2 wonderful luxury home stores:

Gramercy in Atlanta (peachtree battle shopping)
Acorns on Church (highlands, nc)

For the past two years, I have been a full time contractor for a corporate graphic design MarCom department. It was great! But it took me away from my creative work and left me just enough time to handle special orders from my retail connections.
However, I am happy to announce that I have returned to the art and freelance design world and thankful to have more time to engrave, paint and create on a daily basis!

Here is a recent commission for a wedding gift

More to come soon!

Marlis Cornett catalog cover

The holiday season was great! This was my first year to participate in holiday markets and it was exciting and productive. I met so many new and interesting people which lead to some exciting custom design work that I hope to display on this blog soon.
In the meantime I am updating my catalog and busy photographing some new items.
Here is the current catalog cover and please check back to see some updates over the next couple of weeks.
Happy 2012!
Marlis

Etsy shop!

Finally I have opened an Etsy shop. I have loved Etsy for a long time and enjoy looking at the amazing creative talent out there. Etsy really makes it easy for sellers and shoppers alike.

I am adding things slowly, so keep checking in to see what is new!

"S" monogram tumblers at Gramercy

These 4 lovelies are on display at Gramercy Fine Linens. Gramercy is a beautiful shop run by two lovely ladies. If you are in Atlanta and have not been there, you need to go by. Just beautiful. ( I need to replace this bland photo with one from their shop!)

They will be showing these tumblers and other glass items of mine that can be custom ordered through their store.
I'll be delivering more items to them in the next 2 weeks. So, check it out!

Decatur Gallery

Happy New Year!

I've had a nice long holiday break and was surprisingly ready to get back to work this week! I have a long list of things I'd like to do, finish and start. As always there are too many things on my list and I never seem to have time for it all. I am resolved to be better organized this year so I can prioritize my time and continue to explore and experiment as an artist.

December was busy. Mostly with glass commissions. Here are a few of the over 3 dozen mini glass vases I monogrammed. Plus I now have my glass work in the Decatur Gallery in downtown Decatur (behind Cakes and Ale). All you locals should go check out the work-it is a wonderful group of artist that show there!

happy 2011!
